Interesting Search Result

I’ve been posting about the obnoxious radio ad from one of the local Ford dealers here, here, and here. Well if you put the name of the dealer into Google, “Keiffe & Sons”, this blog comes up first. Heh Heh Heh.

  1. umm…sorry that qwe thing was me on accident…Here’s what should be:I took it upon myself to write an email to that wonderful dealership of yours…I hope it’s to your liking! email follows:Dear Sirs, I have recently been enlightened by your short-run advertisement on a local (to you) radio station concerning what type of person should be welcomed at your dealership. I commend you for your commitment to your obviously well planned and well thought out campaign. I am saddened by the fact that certain ne’er-do-wells have tried to besmirch your piety and implore your corporate bosses for you to be reprimanded. I was under the impression that this was a free country…though some would have us believe the opposite. From what I have read, it seems your advertisement is no longer running…I hope it is because you have had such success with it and not because certain folks have had their own success in getting it ripped from the air. These Godless heathens don’t even deserve to drive! As far as I am concerned, they don’t even deserve to be called citizens of this country! The founding fathers clearly stated that this is to be a Christian nation, the pledge of allegiance*, the statements on our currency** and the statements on our money*** are all undeniable proofs for that fact. Any person who would go against the obvious points of great patriotic men like Thomas Jefferson**** and Thomas Paine***** are clearly out of touch with the deep seated-Christian values that this country was built upon. Shame on any atheist that would call you a bigot. Shame on any atheist who would say you have lost touch with all of reality. Shame on any Godless parasite who would try to soil your good name in the spirit of hate and anger with which they have chosen to live their lives! Finally, shame on any person who would try to bring a good God-fearing Christian man down from his business that the Lord has saw fit to give to him. I thank you again, sir, for your dedication to the principles of Jesus Christ and your dedication to low, low prices. May God bless you and your family and send you everything that you rightly have earned by airing this ad.Sincerely,Parker ThomasApex, NC(*), (**), (***) – “The Pledge remained unchanged until the paranoia and hysteria stemming from Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy’s “red scare” hearings swept the nation in the 1950s. Fearing Communism might cross the Atlantic and engulf America, a feeling arose in Congress and throughout parts of the nation that by acknowledging “God” as our national symbol, America would be protected from the Communist menace. Scoring a religious Trifecta of sorts, the Pledge was amended in 1954 to include the words “under God;” legislation to add the motto “In God We Trust” to all coins and currency was passed in 1955; and the national motto “E Pluribus Unum” [out of many, one] was changed to “In God We Trust” in 1956. Collectively these measures form an interesting trilogy of laws for a country founded on a secular Constitution and a belief in the separation of church and state.” – Ken Lynn, The Origin and Meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance(****) – “On the dogmas of religion, as distinguished from moral principles, all mankind, from the beginning of the world to this day, have been quarreling, fighting, burning and torturing one another, for abstractions unintelligible to themselves and to all others, and absolutely beyond the comprehension of the human mind.” – Thomas Jefferson(*****) – “I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish Church, by the Roman Church, by the Greek Church, by the Turkish Church, by the Protestant Church, nor by any Church that I know of. My own mind is my own Church.” – Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason— Heretic’s Altar:

  2. I hope they understand that your email is rather sarcastic, rather than thinking that you agree with them. Fundies seem to be rather humor and satire impared. I plan to write them, but they will probably ignore me. Like the asshole said in the ad, he doesn’t care who is offended by the ad. But at least if anyone is doing a Google search, they will see my blog entries.

  3. yeah…I had the feeling that it may be too cerebral for them. But it really isn’t “for” them anyway…it’s fun to insult people only to have them take the insult as endorsement.Gotta love it! I hope your new toyota/honda/cadillac/mini/smartcar/acura/lexus/whatever is driving well.

  4. We were looking at a used Saturn at that particular dealership, but I think that we will move on to somewhere else to get a car. We’re looking for a good used 2nd car. We have a Honda civic hybrid that is our primary car and love it. Perhaps a used Honda civic at the Honda dealership.

  5. Unfortunately, you spelled “Kieffe” wrong. If you do a search with the correct spelling, this site does not come up first.
